“I am a geographer,” the old gentleman answered.
“What’s a geographer?”
“A geographer is a scientist who knows where the seas are, and rivers, cities, mountains and deserts.”
“That’s very interesting,” said the little prince. “Here at last is a man who has a real job,” he thought.

What my parents call my "real" job
I am a geographer from the bottom of my heart. Thers is no scientific discipline which gives me the opportunity to integrate all aspects we need to create a sustainable and fair way of living. While my master studies at the University of Innsbruck I specialized on:
- sustainable regional development
- implementation of SDGs and CSR
- research on natural hazards
- participatory research
- climate mitigation and adaption
Since 2020 I work as a consultatnt for the alpS GmbH, a 100% subsidary of the University of Innsbruck, in the fields of climate mitigation and adaption as well as sustainable development.

While my master specialization on natural hazards I started to use a small DJI drone to detect avalanche starting zones, rockfall areas as well as debris flow areas in Iceland. As my professor was amazed by my piloting skills, he recruited me for his bigger copter called RiCOPTER. This big mama is the first unmanned aircraft system developed and manufactured by a leading provider of laser scanners and scanning systems. The RiCOPTER can be equipped with different sensors up to an overall maximum sensor payload of 6.5 kg. For surveying missions, the RiCOPTER is equipped with the RIEGL VUX-SYS for RiCOPTER, comprising the VUX-1UAV22 LiDAR sensor, a IMU/GNSS unit, a control unit, and up to three high-resolution cameras.
more than winter
I am deeply in love with each and every season. There would be no joy of winter snow if there was no climbing on the first warm days in spring. I could not deeply fall in love with the fluffy pow if I had no hiking or biking season in summer at my gradpa´s cabin in the alps or without catching some waves on the atlantic ocean in fall.
